In 2022 Shanghai Zhanhai Automotive Technology was founded — moving from nearly two decades of veneer trading and processing into the manufacturing and delivery of automotive genuine wood interiors. It is the most important turn in Zhanhai’s history.
Veneer trading gave Zhanhai deep material knowledge and supply-chain resources, but the ceiling of trading was plain to see. The automotive industry’s demands for material process, batch consistency and system management are exactly the exam Zhanhai, with years of depth in wood, was best placed to answer.
The transition meant a whole new capability stack: automotive-grade coating and stabilisation, IATF 16949 system management, and a project development rhythm coordinated with OEMs. Founding Zhanhai Automotive turned those requirements into an organisation and production lines.
